A new DOW high today? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Hello Gents,

Well, are we going to see the DJIA break through to a new all-time high by today or tomorrow? The Fed leaving interest rates alnoe just might do it. I've got a DOW index fund, so here's wishing....

Not today it seems. "U.S. stocks fall on weaker economic data"
http://yahoo.reuters.com/news/articlehy ... ews&rpc=44

Aside from that, it doesn't seem to me like the stock market should be rocketing. We have been dying with skyhigh gas prices for quite a while now - at least, I sure have been. Wall street seems to be repeating the mantra of "how great the economy is doing" over and over. I don't see it.

Well guys we finally pulled it off - a new high for the DOW. How long will it last? I hope for a long, long time. I'm personally tired of worrying about when the next bunch of religious fanatics are going to pull off an attack or whether those who pay their way (OPEC countries, Hugo Chavez, etc.) are going to try fixing the price of oil above a certain level. Why the hell are we so accommodating of those bastards? Sorry for my French, but I'm damn tired of my life being dependent on what a bunch of ignorant, illiterate primates playing in the sand with big-boy weapons might do next. We have the ability to wipe them off the face of the Earth. Maybe it's time we begin doing so.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
