Free Cellphones = Flash Mobs - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Greetings:

You have probably read lately of the problem of "flash mobs" in urban areas. It is a sport where huge groups of people - usually kids and young adults - band together via a cellphone texting campaign. They usually end up committing acts of terror against a specific group, usually businesses or Whites, in an overwhelming descension. They do their damage, and then leave - all within minutes. The police are too afraid of being called racists to do anything to them. Meanwhile, victims are powerless to defend themselves. Sooner or later someone is going to get shot by a victim desperate to ensure the survival of himself or companion. That is probably what the organizers - certainly not the useful idiots who commit the acts - actually want. They want to give the complicit media an excuse to rail against "weak" gun laws.

I've posted headlines lately of more and more states handing out cellphones to people on welfare, ostensibly to help them find jobs and call for emergency services. You can bet the same organizers have as an ulterior motive arming the mobs with the trigger devices for flash mob attacks. Sound conspiratorial? If you can look at the events of the last few years and still say there is nothing amiss with all the turmoil around the world, then all I can say is I won't have your back when/if the time comes. You're on your own.

Personally, I'm sick of miscreants getting away with outrageous acts while the media dismisses them as frustrated people with no other outlet for their collective plight. There is no excuse for it. Civilizations the world over have pulled themselves up by their own bootstraps from the beginning of time, even against adversity and oppression (real or imagined). In the past, survival of the fittest took care of them; today, the fittest invite the destruction upon themselves. :smt102

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
