Yeah I hate those fullpage ads
that pop up on a lot of the websites. If it ever happens here I'll go elsewhere.
The one I hate most is EE Times website. Theirs gives you a place to click to skip
the ad and then it usually makes you sit there through the entire countdown anyway.
I hate their site and refuse to go there anymoe. I look at hyperlinks before clicking
and if they go to EE Times, I don't click - except by accident. Some of the
news sites are pulling this crap now and I won't go to them either. D.

You are doing the most important thing, and I do it also.
If I see those kinds
of ads, I immediately leave the site. If the site was in my 'bookmarks' file, I remove
it.
The people that run the site run statistics regularly to see how their site
is performing. If more of us would immediately leave the site and not go back, they
would very quickly see that something they have done is chasing people away.

But (worse)^n*these are the full page ad-webs that trap you and give no "reverse out"
back-arrow. They really suck, especially if you need to return to say your origin
google or altavista engine site where there are loads of results pages you need. But
you lose the lot simply because some total skrote designed a site you get trapped in,
like in a black hole. (Wow, I never got closer to flaming on a site before. Close
one)

Evening Gents,
You can add Cellular News to the list of site to be abhored for
such schemes.
Forbes takes the prize because they title their page to be a "Welcome
Screen."

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
