Who still shares cubes? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

employer just stuck someone in the cubicle with me - in a 8x8ft space! This really has me hot. The dude is OK and all, but cube sharing went out when cube sizes shrunk to just big enough for a volume-challenged person to push his chair away from the desk.

This sucks because of I complain, it'll make the dude think its because of him, but the manager (the guy actually looks like the Dilbert boss) says it'll be until more space is found. I haven't heard anything about us moving or building on. This is pure bull%^@#.

This is really bad. The way that employers abuse their employees, just not to "waste" money and build a new office for new employees.

Well the hype days are over so I think that you can only bite your tongue and move on. In better days, let's say 4 years ago, I would gone to that employer and throw the resignation letter on his desk and quit working in the same day.

The employers nowadays abuse their employees, because they know how much a job is hard to find and how important it is to maintain a job.

I haven't had to share my cubicle yet. But just being in an open cubicle environment is very distracting. I know more about the personal lives of my coworkers than I would have ever wanted to know. Employers should measure how much productivity is lost due to these distractions.

Don't say that!!! They'll just move your whole facility to India or bring in some cheap H1Bs! You may even be required to train your replacement. In the eyes of your employer, you ain't sh*t. If you look, I believe it says as much in the mission statement.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer.
