Hi,
Does anyone have experience working with
grounded CPW lines in ansoft designer? I was trying
to simulate a short GCPW. This is how I defined
the ports:
1. I selected the edges of the
signal and the 2 ground plane lines (co-planar)
2. I placed an edge port.
I did the same
for the second port. I had a number of vias along
the length of the line. When I run the simulation,
I get warnings saying that the port impedance does
not match port calibration. Is there something wrong
in the way I have defined the port? When I look
at the results, the S-parameters have a whole bunch
of options like S(P1: -+- P1: -0-) and different
combinations of these for S11,S21,S12 and S22. When
I choose any of these, nothing plots!! I have no
clue what is going on with this. When I run the
same simulation in HFSS I get pretty good results,
though it takes quite a while. Can someone please
help me with this??
Karthik.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
