The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

EMC/EMI Test Specialist

Wireless Test Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
Perform testing to meet overall laboratory needs. This includes writing test plans, performing actual hands on testing, and documenting final results in a formal report in accordance with both domestic and international regulatory requirements. Engage in problem solving activities to address product failure/non-compliance issues. Develop test methods to comply with both regulatory test standards and customer specifications. This will also include automating these test methods to improve laboratory efficiency and accuracy. Develop and improve laboratory operational procedures and technical procedures to maintain ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation.

Requirements:
- Electrical Engineering Degree or Electronics Technology Diploma with at least 3-5 years of work experience in a compliance test laboratory.
- Work experience in a ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory.
- Thorough understanding of test standards (both domestic and international).
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong computer skills (MS Word and Excel).

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
