Nov 07, 2005 1:11 pm HP it's not!
I went to work for them
about the time they split from HP. As soon as the ink from the divorce
papers was signed, they started shipping just about everything to Malaysia.
This included engineering positions. In the 4 years I worked for them,
the site reduced it forced by 70%. That's right, 70% got laid off, fired,
retired or offered an over seas relocation. It got so bad that Agilent
was inventing new ways to get rid of people without having to pay severance.
They fired 10 people for using company email for personal business.
No warnings, just walked out.
A buddy of mine worked there 15
years and was fired one day and told his project was cancelled and they
had nothing for him to do anymore. The mangement called him up a week
later and wanted him to finish his project on contract for half his
salary and no perks. Kinda sounds like the Wal-mart way!

5 Agilent's comms TE is bloated and hard to navigate the features.
They charge an arm and two legs for every option. $$$thousand$ for simple
software upgrades.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling
2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed
formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit
design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at
the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps
while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got
Mail" when a new message arrived...
