Test/Measurement Books - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Good day.

I would do a search on Agilent, Tektronix, Fluke, etc. websites. Most test equipment manufacturers have some good application notes/product notes about how certain things are tested.

Also you can check out Test & Measurement magazine. Sometimes they have some articles on how to test things.

Best of luck.
Michael

I have been an RF test engr for over 20 years and have bought many books on RF test only to find that they were a waste of money. The best source to learn RF testing is from the major players in the business - Agilent, Anritsu, etc. Agilent has an excellent series on Spectrum Analyzers - AN-150 series and the AN-1449 series on Power measurement. Anrtisu also has excellent app notes on RF theory and measurement. Other good sources are RF Design, Microwaves&RF and Test & Measurement magazines. I have learned more RF theory and about how to make RF measurements from these sources then from any text book I had EVER bought.

Good Luck

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
