retrieving s parameters from vna - RF Cafe Forums

its on a agilent 8753es vna. I want to save 4 channel
s/parameters data to a disk.( if i go to list i
only see 2 channel data) I dont want the graph format.
I need to give the data to a engineer. After i save
the files if i remember correctly it save it in
a weird csv? format. How then can I open this up.
I am familiar with vna's and can find my way
around(most of the time. but its been over 1 year
since i touched one last.

ok i figured it out but I have a new question I
guess its more excel based, I am using Intulink
to get the s2p files directly onto my pc. The thing
is the files are dispalyed in scientific form. I
want to change it to real # format.
If i go directly
from vna to floppy then to pc it opens up real #
format.
Anyone have any ideas?

Hello I have used the 35665A dynamic signal analyser
which is similar. It outputs the data to disk in
LIF/DOS format which can then be converted into
a text format. This from mem is real and imag with
comma separation or maybe a space, once in excel
it has options for opening and formating text documents,
you just have to get excel to work out what formating
is needed to split the real and imaginery into a
colomn each, then you can do the maths to get the
mag and phase. (do you guys have an 8714B anywhere
in your lab, I need a copy of the bootrom)

You can use ADS (Advanced Design system
software). You can call the file in S2P component
which will read the data and give you the simulation
graph.
