Meteor Scatter on Saturday - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hi,

how was the shower? Haven't heard much here in Euroupe. Have to wait until the nice November-shower of the Leonids!

I almost never get on any VHF other than 2m FM mobile in the truck. So I didn't even bother to get out of bed for the meteor event.

Hi All
I normally look for MS beacon pings on 6 and 10 but heard nothing either last weekend, nor the weekend before. The German beacons usually produce about 1 good burst every 10 minutes even with a dipole antenna, but not this shower. Let's hope the Leonids will be better.

Leonids have been very nice the past years with wideopened band for up to one hour! Unfortunately not so many stations QRV, since it's most often in the middle of night.
