Internet History Tracking - Proof Positive - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Greetings:

Over the last few weeks, I have noticed that almost every Google Ad displayed on websites is related to a website I previously visited. For instance, this morning I was looking at telescopes and accessories on telescopes.com. The next few websites I visited while searching for engineering headlines had at least one Google Ad related to telescopes. Here is an example from the Cellular-News.com website that actually has a telescopes.com ad. If I empty the browser cache, it stops. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Hi Kurt. I've noticed that for a long time. Surprised it took you this long. Congress is working on laws to limit or prevent the practice. Try using the Incognito mode of Chrome to prevent it. I think IE might have a stealth mode too.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The Internet was still largely an unknown entity at the time and not much was available in the form of WYSIWYG ...
