LCross no show - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I appreciate the science the LCross mission gave us and could be more than worth the cost. I found the hype NASA people put on to promote the impact and fan it up and video feeds and all. We had all the kids and people out looking thru every scope available. Even all the wacko's came out to say it was a secret MOAB ordinance test for deep penetration. Huh say what?!?! I see NASA then backed off the hype afterwards and fell back on "Well it's science and doesn 't always live up to expectations". Nice job of making people apathetic on future missions and natural wonders in the sky. I read beforehand in Amateur Astonomy magazines that best possible view was at least a 10 inch mirror. With my 8inch, I stayed in bed the extra couple minutes instead on this one. Thanks anyway NASA...
