Will my WRT54G reach with new antenna - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I have a WRT54G that I plan to purchace or build a directional antenna for.
The planned link distance will be 5-6 miles.
Does the router have enough power to transmit this far?
What kind of antenna will be needed?
Datasheet says 15dB antenna by default.

I have been reccomended a 1/4 wave double biquad.
Will this work?
