wire antenna - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

i have a circuit that contains a wire antenna with a specific length and diameter (they didn't mention anything else in the design) ,can i use any wire for example copper with this length and diameter to do the job or there should be a specific material?is this a long wire antenna or a dipole and what is the difference?
