RF CIRCUIT DESIGN BY ADS - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hi everybody!

Excuse me, I'm studding MSC,I looking for procedure design The RF amplifier work in 34GHz, i know i should make matching for cct. in s-parameter but idont know how i do bias cct without effect the matching cct.

David,
At 34 GHz, there may be unavoidable interaction between the impedance matching circuit and the bias circuit - especially if you're trying to get a broad-band amplifier.

That said, a quarter-wave line (acting as a transformer) from the bias source to the active device may help - but pretty much all passive devices will be composites. By which I mean, there will be unavoidable capacitance to your resistors, unavoidable resistance all over the place in your transmission lines and resonators. Your best bet is just to make allowances.

Good Luck!
