The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Hi,

Does anyone have experience working with grounded CPW lines in ansoft designer? I was trying to simulate a short GCPW. This is how I defined the ports:

1. I selected the edges of the signal and the 2 ground plane lines (co-planar)
2. I placed an edge port.

I did the same for the second port. I had a number of vias along the length of the line. When I run the simulation, I get warnings saying that the port impedance does not match port calibration. Is there something wrong in the way I have defined the port? When I look at the results, the S-parameters have a whole bunch of options like S(P1: -+- P1: -0-) and different combinations of these for S11,S21,S12 and S22. When I choose any of these, nothing plots!! I have no clue what is going on with this. When I run the same simulation in HFSS I get pretty good results, though it takes quite a while. Can someone please help me with this??

Karthik.
