ADS simulation error - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

hi,
i am trying to build an Rf power amplifier at 2.14 GHz. Whenever I try to use the optimization tool along with 1-tone Harmonic Balance simulation, the simulator crashes stating - 'Simulator Terminated Abnormally'. I don't have any idea why it is happening? Can anyone tell me what could be causing it?

Thank You,
DHRUVIT PATEL

I am not sure if this is your problem, but, if you are trying to perform a "Harmonic balance simulation" I think you should be using more than one tone. This may not be the cause of the problem, but even so, performing a one tone harmonic balance simulation will tell you nothing about the non-linear performance of the amplifier.
