Hi.. - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

hi for everyone....i'm from malaysia....currently doing my mechatronic degree....
need some help on my final year project....im doing rf for hearing impaired person.....my task is to improve transmission for double story house....anyone can help on how to do it....for now im considering amplifier and active antenna with transmisson line......am i choosing thye right method?

That seems a good plan. Depending on your specialization background, you could either look in detail at the rf side of the problem, or look more closely at the man/machine interface area.
The first one has many solutions already commercially available, so there is no point in re-inventing the wheel. There are many low-cost products that employ frequency hopping 2.45GHz technology, and this is well established. Emerging techniques using the 60GHz band are entering commercial availability but they are currently rather expensive and more suitable for high speed LANs.
I have not encountered the term mechatronics before, but it sounds like the man/machine interface would be more your line.
