Hello all,
I want to design
a PCB for very high frequencies (3-10GHz), specifically incorporating
connector for antenna and a transceiver, baseband and MAC ICs. Can anybody
guide me as to what software I can use to design it? Will ORCAD 10
be sufficient?
Being new in PCB design, I would also appreciate
guidelines on the various potential problems that I can face and how
to solve them.

Hi,
You have a tall order. First,
lots of PCB packages (incliuding OrCad 10, if you know it or find its
interface congenial to your taste) will let you design the board - but
*analysis* (to see if you have a good-enough design) is a whole different
story.
To have a good shot at a functional design, you will need
to know about microstrip. There are whole books on this subject: get
one and read it! (Lots of people use the book(s) by Garg and Bahl,
published by Artech House).
Then you'll need a simulator - or
maybe just a lot of board "turns" - layouts/fabs/tests/fix layout, do
it again.

Thanx a lot for your info.
I will look into microstrips.
Also, would appreciate if you could tell me some simulators that
are available in the market
