Looking for Information about Designing Diode Detectors - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Good day.

I am looking for information about designing diode detectors - both large signal and small signal. I do not have a specific application in mind, I just want to get a better understanding about diode detectors.

I have looked at the Avago/Agilent/HP application notes. They provide me with some information, but I feel that I am missing something.
