Looking for historical information regarding SMD R, C and L - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I am trying to find the dates when each subsequent smaller size of a particular component was first released. I want this information to plot the progress of component miniaturisation over time. In particular I need release dates for...

1206, 0805, 0603, 0402, 0201, 01005......

I would like these dates for each type of component (Resistor, Capacitor, Inductor) ideally from the same manufacturer for consistency.

Any suggestions where I might get this information?
