Pathloss - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

How to Calculate Outdoor / Indoor Path Loss? Say at 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz.

Also Like to Know Different Material (Loss) Properties at 2.4GHz / 5.8GHz Band.

fudged free air path loss

PL = 20 log(f) + 20 log(d) - Gt - Gr - 27.6

f = frequency in MHz,
d = distance in meters between Tx and Rx antennas
20 log(F) = gain of a isotropic receiving antenna
Gt, Gr = antenna gains of the transmitter and receiver antennas.
