I was just wondering
if anyone had a suggestion for sneaking RF through a chassis wall and
into a load without leaking it all over the interior of the chassis.
Essentially, I want to transport DC plus up to 37dBm of 30MHz -
10GHz, through a connector, into a chassis and then into a box that
functions as a dummy load / bias Tee to pull the DC out.
My concern
is getting the RF from chassis wall to the box containing the Tee without
interfering with unshielded equipment in the chassis.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Mike

Is the chassis IP rated?
If it is an IP65 chassis, then just
make a drilling on the bottom face of the chassis (big enough so the
cable connector can pass though) and connect the cable into the insider
load box.. perhaps you could put a plastic device on the chassis wall
hole(I don´t know how you call it) so you don´t damage the cable.
And be careful, perhaps it is not a good idea to have unshielded
RF inside of the chassis.
Perhaps this is not ideal for every
application, this is common for IP65 outdoor high power cellular repeaters..
Hope this helps you.

because I don't have your precise mechanical config, I would mount a
good quality SMA bulkhead female to female connector on the outside
box, and something similar on the inside box, then attach an SMA male
to SMA male semi-rigid coax line between the two. That gets the DC plus
30-10000 MHz to the inside of the inner box with a screening factor
of about 100dB. Or am I missing something that makes that impossible?
