Vehicle power supply transients - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

I want to do some testing of a bit of kit destined to be powered from a vehicle supply. If its possible I would like to do this with home-brew test rigs. Any suggestions of where there may be some detail of how to build your own kit to do this ?

After some research I find that ISO 7637 transient immunity testing is mentioned quite a lot. I can find reasonable detail on voltage amplitudes but not much of duration of transients and other information that might make your own testing to this spec possible

Any suggestions (Apart from sending the kit to a test house!)
