suggestion of website and book - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Dear all,

I am a beginner in designing a RF Bandpass filter. :( As my assignment/project required me to design a RF bandpass filters for the receiver operating from 2110-2170MHz, i hope you all can suggest to me which websites and books suitable for me to learn how to design the required BPF. Why would you build one when muRata and Epcos make every kind of SAW BPF under the sun for the UMTS bands?

Dear Tom,

The bandpass filter is used in 3G mobile transceiver, is it i am required to design a LC bandpass filter rather than microstrip type?

The book "Radio-Frequency Electronics'' by Jon B. Hagen suitable for me to learn how to design the bandpass filter? or the two books mentioned above are more suitable?

"shnt-bpf.mcd", what software is suitable to open the .mcd file?

.mcd files are opened with MathCAD (www.mathcad.com)
