Accepting a New Job in This Economy - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

hello

i might be getting an offer from a company. i already have a job (in the same area) but looking to move. but, in this economy when layoff happens new people, i'd think, are on the chopping blocks first. but, then again, if a company is willing to hire in this economy, i would think they're in good shape.

what do you guys think? shall i accept it (if it is offered, that is)?

I don't know - never underestimate the stupidity capacity of management. I once worked for a company in which we moved to a new facility. They made modifications to the building and signed a 10 year lease. Planning to be there for a I while I thought... Two months later, they closed the facility and laid everyone off. I had worked there 6 months at the time. We were all told on December 21, 2001. Merry Christmas!!
