Need Advice - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Hello Guys,

I am a new MS graduate with specialisation in RF Egineering. Since I graduated in Dec 04, I have been applying for RF jobs, but havent had any luck till now. Either I come across jobs which require security clearance(I am not a US citizen) or I see jobs which need atleast 6 months experience. Ironically, I got a job as a Project Coordinator, which involves developing software project in VB, Matlab and other software tools.(developing software is something I never liked to do). But I am concerned that continuing in this job would take me away from my field of interest i.e., RF Engineering. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions or comments in this regard.

Thanks

Take up the job as you say you are not finding a RF job. People in RF, especially test or systems engineering, use software a lot for automating the tests. You can highlight these on-the-job skills when you apply for RF jobs when you get one.

Good Luck.
