laid-off and confused - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I worked as an RF Engineer for a very small company until I was laid off one month ago.

Today, I received a confidentiality agreement plus a request to sign and return it to them in the mail today.

Has anyone ever been asked to sign similar documents after there employment has been terminated?

Thanks for your input.

Do not sign it.. Normally that is something that you sign at the beginning of your employment. If you sign it now you are basically limiting yourself for future employment, like your previous employers competitor.

I would send it back to them unsigned along with a note that said that you would be more than happy to sign it for a cash payment of $500,000. They obviously feel like they screwed up and that you might talk. You are under no obligation to keep your mouth shut.
