How do I jumpstart my career? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

I am a 6th semester student and there is virtually no RF company in my country.
I want to pursue career in Rf.RF companies need experienced designer.
One question more

Is it possbile to learn All RF designing on my own do some realprojects on my own (with no guidence or under professor) and then apply for RF design jobs that demands independent designer that need little guidence?
Is it possible or I am just aiming too high or struggling for some imaginary thing?
apologize me for poor english.

hello again asim
Which country do you live in?
If it is a country that allows radio amateur licences, then learn the necessary basic theory, pass the exam, and obtain a private radio transmitting licence. To get help with this process, if the country government allow such licences, then there will be a national club/organisation. Contact them and get help.
That is how I started in this professional field. The enthusiasm that you have will translate into successful projects that you can document with text and photographs. Build a credible CV with this material, and it will undoubtedly impress a potential employer. At the level of immediate post-graduates, nothing impresses a future employer more than enthusiasm, because that overcomes all technical problems you will encounter, and lead to cost-effective solutions. None of that can be learnt purely academically.
