Greetings: I am privileged to present a collection
of never-before-seen photographs of the atomic bomb
tests at the Trinity Site. My brother-in-law's father
worked there during WWII and had these images stowed
away for 60 years. The photos have been offered
to the
Harry S. Truman Library &
Museum for their archives.

I have.

Cool photos! Are you sure the first 3 are not from
some high-speed camera, given you can see the fireball
expanding?

Greetings madengr:
According to my source, these were taken
with a regular camera (for the 1940s era). In some
of the videos of the nuclear explosions I have seen,
the fireball and cloud took long enough to develop
to allow someone with a fast film advancement finger
to capture the sequence.
I searched the
Internet pretty extensively to see if I could find
duplicates of these photos prior to announcing them.
There are of course similar ones, but none from
the same vantage point. Finding original color photos
of the event is difficult - probably because of
not wanting such detail of the signature to be discernable.
These images are highly blued due to aging of the
film.
There are most likely other "unauthorized"
photgraphs around, but are either still buried in
someone's attic or have been thrown away long ago.
