Poll: Have you recently had items stolen at the airport? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Below are the old forum threads, including responses to the original posts.

Greetings:

In a recent column by the great Bob Pease, he told of how both he and his wife had, in a very short time, each had the battery charger for their notebook computers stolen from checked baggage at an airport. He postulates that there is likely a collaborative scheme between the x-ray scanners and the baggage loaders whereby the x-ray scanners somehow tag luggage with “easy” items to snatch, and then the baggage loaders simply reach into the marked regions and purloin the goods.

Have you recently had items stolen at the airport?

I didn't think Bob Pease liked computers.

Greetings kpainter:

Come to think of it, you're right - he does take every opportunity to bash computers and all them newfangled devices. He should be praising the security folks for giving him an excuse to use pencil and paper.

I had a digital camera stolen at San Diego Lindberg Field by Delta or TSA pesonnel. Upon arrival at BWI and discovering the theft, I have to say that the Delta personnel were the most unconcerned, and uncaring that I have ever come across. It's no surprise Delta's in bamkruptcy with staff like that.

Greetings darrly:

I'm surprised the airlines manage to stay in business at all. They must somehow receive huge government subsidies.
