Does AMPS co-exist with WCDMA? - RF Cafe Forums

The original RF Cafe Forums were shut down in late 2012 due to maintenance issues - primarily having to spend time purging garbage posts from the board. At some point I might start the RF Cafe Forums again if the phpBB software gets better at filtering spam.

Per my understanding, due to AMPS signal co-existing with CDMA signal, there is Single Tone Desense (STD) spec for CDMA. I know that in WCDMA there are blockers spec for GSM signal. How about AMPS for WCDMA? I think that they could be operating in the same frequency. For example, CDMA cell band center frequency is 836.5MHz, and WCDMA band 5 center freqeuncy is 836.5MHz. Why AMPS signal will not bother WCMDA like CDMA? My only guess is that operators could make sure not to let AMPS co-exist with WCMDA.

Also I would like to know if any carrier uses AMPS as I doubt about it.
