Senior MMIC Design Engineer

March 28, 2019 - Custom MMIC, a leading independent microwave and millimeter wave circuit design center, seeks an experienced Senior MMIC Design Engineer to join their design team. The candidate should have a strong background in high frequency integrated circuit design (especially above 5 GHz) using a variety of GaAs and GaN semiconductor processes including, but not limited to: MESFET, PHEMT, mHEMT, and HBT. The candidate must be able to handle all aspects of circuit design, from specification review to simulation, layout, and prototype testing. Experience in amplifiers (low noise, drive, power), mixers, switches, phase shifters, and/or attenuators is required. This position requires significant independent work with minimal supervision. Green Card or US Citizenship is required.

Custom MMIC Looking for a Senior MMIC Design Engineer - RF CafeExperience, Skills and Education Required

10 years of RF Microwave and Millimeterwave MMIC product development with strong technical skills and BSEE degree (MSEE preferred) are required. Additional requirements are:

  • Strong fundamentals in electronics and circuit design: DC through millimeter wave applications.
  • Experience in RF circuit design: switches, amplifiers, converters, phase shifters.
  • Experience with the following software tools: ADS, Matlab, Sonnet, TAS, Excel.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Experience working with high frequency test equipment including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, power meters, synthesized signal sources, and wafer probers.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
