Summary

Aegis Power Systems, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of power electronics, is seeking a Lead Electronics Technician to join our growing team for an on-site position in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina!

Aegis Power Systems Products - RF CafeThe Lead Electronics Technician supports the development and implementation of tests to evaluate, verify, troubleshoot, and repair our power supply products. This includes designing test fixtures to support test events, setup of test equipment, collecting data during test events, troubleshooting and root cause analysis during failures, and advising on repairs or alternate design paths. This position works closely with design engineers and production staff to test and resolve challenges in our power supply products. The Lead Electronics Technician must have a thorough knowledge of AC and DC circuitry, schematics interpretation, and test data capture methods. Must have experience using DMM and Oscilloscope for troubleshooting AC and DC circuits. LabVIEW and C++ programming familiarity is required. Familiarity with EMI lab tests and equipment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Design test fixtures including layout, bill of material specification, and test outcomes.
  • Repair, test, and troubleshoot all aspects of our manufactured products.
  • Write code for microcontroller-based test fixtures using C, C++.
  • Write acceptance test programs using LabVIEW.
  • Perform bench tests and automatic Acceptance Test Procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and fix board-level problems within test fixtures and Aegis product per IPC requirements.
  • Maintain a good work attendance record.
  • Perform technical training of other technician personnel.
  • Write and implement test procedures assuring that all specifications of unit are met using AS9100 process.
  • Maintain a safe and orderly workstation and test equipment.

Required Skills

  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • Strong ability to understand engineering documents and schematics.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products for use in day-to-day computing.
  • LabVIEW and C++ programming.
  •  Familiarity with EMI lab test and equipment a plus.
  • Familiarity with military standards a plus.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum --2 year AA Degree in Electronics or associated field; 3 years related work experience.
  • Preferred -- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar technical field.

Compensation Details

  • Job type: Full-time On-site.
  • Location: Murphy, NC (Relocation package available).
  • Compensation: Non-exempt Hourly + Benefits.
