Essential Functions: The
Telemetry Engineer
is responsible for the architectural design, integration, testing and operation
of telemetry systems for the Dynamic Range Measurement System (DRMS). Experience
with flight test instrumentation and telemetry (TM) systems, telemetry ground stations
such as the Advanced Range Data System (ARDS) and Data Acquisition, Recording and
Telemetry (DART) systems. Strong technical background with technical problem-solving
skills. Must be hands-on and capable of working with limited to no supervision.
Expert knowledge of systems engineering practices & best practices for the full
development life cycle, including telemetry standards, technical reviews, testing,
and operations.
General Duties: Lead a collaborative team of NRTF and WSMR subject
matter experts (SMEs) to develop a Common Range Integrated Instrumentation System
(CRIIS) based solution for a USAF T-38 platform. Additionally, participate in a
working group to field and test an F-35 multifunction advanced data link (MADL)
base range telemetry system (MADL Ground Station MGS). Develop, architect, translate,
and document the Telemetry requirements.
Other Duties: Additional duties and responsibilities may be
assigned by the supervisor as necessary to support contract/mission support requirements
in job-related areas.
Education / Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a
technical field (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics) with 3-5
years of professional experience. Knowledge of, at least, one modern programming
language such as C, C++, MATLAB, Python etc is highly desired. Effective task organization
and communication skills are required.
Other Requirements: This position requires a Top Secret security
clearance. Candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security
clearance. Must possess a valid drivers’ license. All selected candidates must undergo
and successfully pass a background investigation and drug test as a condition of
placement into this position. Supports E-OMS operational objectives; observes company
Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies. Supports Process
Improvement.
Work Environment: Duties are normally performed in an office
environment.
Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be capable of regularly climbing extension ladders, tower ladders, stepladders
and stairs. Requires bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, and walking extensively
on a regular basis.
