Z-Communications Intros Ultra Low Phase Noise VCO
for Satellite Communication Equipment

Z-Communications, Inc.

VCO: CRO1320A-LF Features Ultra Low Phase Noise for
        Satellite Communication Equipment

Z-Communications, Inc. announces a new RoHS compliant VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator) model CRO1320A-LF for the SATCOM market. The CRO1320A-LF is designed to cover 1320 MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc. This single frequency, high performance VCO has been optimized to feature extremely low phase noise of -120 dBc/Hz @ 10 kHz offset while operating off a 5 Vdc supply and typically drawing only 29 mA of current.

Z-Comm Intros Ultra Low Phase Noise for Satellite Communication Equipment - RF CafeThe CRO1320A-LF provides the end user an output power of 3±3 dBm into a 50 Ω load while operating over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to 85ºC. This unmatched VCO suppresses the second harmonic to better than -18 dBc while operating with a tuning sensitivity of only 3 MHz/V. The CRO1320A-LF is further heightened by its frequency stability versus pushing and pulling. The VCO pulls less than 0.5 MHz with a 12 dB return loss, any phase, and pushes less than 0.5 MHz/V within a 5% change of the supply voltage.

RoHS logoThe CRO1320A-LF comes in Z-Comm's industry standard MINI-16-SM package measuring 0.5 in. x 0.5 in. x 0.22 in. It is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it ideal for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.  For further information on this model or any other product from Z-Communications, Inc. please contact our Applications department via e-mail at applications@zcomm.com or call us at 858-621-2700.

RF Cafe began life in 1996 as "RF Tools" in an AOL screen name web space totaling 2 MB. Its primary purpose was to provide me with ready access to commonly needed formulas and reference material while performing my work as an RF system and circuit design engineer. The World Wide Web (Internet) was largely an unknown entity at the time and bandwidth was a scarce commodity. Dial-up modems blazed along at 14.4 kbps while tying up your telephone line, and a nice lady's voice announced "You've Got Mail" when a new message arrived...
