Sound-OffMicrosoft Allows Overpaid Laid-Off
Employees to Keep Overpayments |
February 24, 2009
Microsoft has
decided to allow its laid-off employees who received a few thousand dollars extra in
their severance checks to keep the money... because it wanted to avoid being accused
of being mean and uncaring. I think it is outrageous that Microsoft has allowed itself
to be bullied into this action. When a bank makes an accounting error, the account
holder is not allowed to keep the money. Aside from that, there should be no
expectation on the part of the recipient to be able to keep the erroneous payment;
he/she has no right to it. -
